TERMS AND CONDITIONS

General

The following Terms and Conditions are agreed between you and Liquid Edge Sailing School. By making a payment you accept the Terms and Conditions for all members of your party and you are therefore advised to read them carefully.

We keep these terms simple.

  • Disclaimers regarding injury have little effect in law and we do no ask you to sign one.
  • It is advisable to have personal insurance in case of injury, see notes on insurance below.

Deposits and Payments

  • A deposit of 50% of the total course fee is required to reserve your place(s) on a course.
  • The balance should be paid 14 days prior to the course commencing.

Inclement or unsafe weather

  • Unsafe weather (Gale Force or Storm conditions) or conditions as determined by Liquid Edge Sailing School may, at our absolute discretion, cause postponement or cancelation of the Sailing School on the day.
  • Rain periods, occasional showers, lack of wind, a Strong Wind forecast or overcast weather is not cause for postponement or cancelation.
  • Liquid Edge Sailing School prefers to reschedule, however if you are unable to we will provide a refund less a $150.00 admin fee per booking. This may be put towards another booking down the track. We are one of few companies to offer this option.

Inboard toilet

There is a Marine Toilet available for guests on board. It is electrically operated and the contents pumped to an on board holding tank for later pump out. Facial tissues (these are stronger than toilet paper), tampons and other items will block the toilet, in the event the toilet is blocked the sailing school may be canceled.

Cancellations and postponements

Any cancellation or postponement requires written notice to us, email is acceptable.

  • Cancellations prior to 21 days before date of commencement of the session attract a administrative fee of 150.00.
  • Cancellation after 21 days and before 7 days of the session will attract a cancellation fee of 50% of the price.
  • Cancellation after 7 days and before 2 days of the course will attract a cancellation fee of 70%.
  • In the event of the cancellation within 48 hours of commencement the cancellation charge will be 100% of the course.

If circumstances change we are happy to shift the booking to another time, no fee will be charged to 7 days prior provided booking is moved to another date. 

  • Once notified of a cancelation we will open the date and if a replacement booking comes in we will offer a full refund.
  • Refunds issued to the same account you paid with. 

Insurance

  • The vessel and the students are insured against hull and machinery damage, liability, injury and some personal effects as stated in the marine policy for each yacht.
  • Liquid Edge Sailing School liability is limited to the insurance policy.
  • If you wish to take further insurance please contact a travel insurance company.

Cancellation due to damage or breakdown

  • Yachts sometimes break down or suffer damage which may require repairs or parts to be obtained, resulting in the yacht(s) being unavailable.
  • Liquid Edge Sailing School will advise the client as soon as any problem arises and try to make alternate arrangements by booking a similar vessel.
  • In the event alternate arrangements cannot be made, the course will be canceled and a full refund issued.
  • Liquid Edge Sailing School will not be held liable for any arrangements or costs associated with a canceled course.

Acceptance of these Terms and Conditions

On payment of the deposit or full amount, you acknowledge you have read this document and agree to abide by these terms and conditions.
