Terms and Conditions for Catamaran and Yacht Charters
Safety matters
- The skipper has final say over any matter concerning the conduct of the vessel.
- The wearing of life jackets is not mandatory unless required required by your skipper. Non swimmers may consider wearing one.
- A safety briefing will be held by the skipper upon boarding the yacht. Swimming from the yacht is at your own risk.
- There is a basic medical kit on board.
- Liquid Edge will comply with Public Health Orders. Each passenger will be required to scan our QR code and a list of passengers must be provided prior to the charter. Proof of vaccination or medical exemption may be required.
What should I wear
- Dark or black soled shoes, heeled shoes and hard soles are not permitted. Anyone wearing shoes which may damage the decks will be required to remove them. Non marking soft soled shoes should be worn.
- Comfortable clothing is recommended, as well as sun protection (including a hat and sunscreen).
- Winds off the water can often be cool, a jacket and / or spray jacket is recommended.
Seasickness
- Movement of the vessel, including at anchor, may cause nausea, medical advice should be sought prior to charter. If taking sea-sickness medication, please take 1 – 2 hours before the charter. Taking medication once you are feeling sick is usually ineffective. The yacht does not have seasickness medication and we are not permitted to dispense it.
Post charter cleaning and rubbish
- Charterers supplying their own catering are responsible for ensuring the vessel is left clean and in a similar state to the way you found the boat.
- The marina where the Seawind is housed has no garbage collection service. Liquid Edge Yacht Charters will remove one bag of rubbish such as food scraps plus 1 tub of recycling. Please be prepared to remove excess rubbish.
- Food and drink items left behind will be removed and disposed of.
- Any property left behind, i.e. mobile phones, music players etc please contact us to arrange collection. Goods not collected within 7 days will be disposed of.
Alcohol and smoking
- Alcohol should be consumed in moderation. Our skippers have the right to terminate the charter if alcohol fuelled behaviour is deemed a danger. The skipper has the final say on this matter.
- Please discard any smoking refuse responsibly and not in the Harbour.
- Smoking is not permitted below decks or in the lounge area on the vessel. Repairs arising from cigarette burns on the decks or cushions will be charged to the Charterer.
- Smokers should consult the skipper before lighting up.
Inclement or unsafe weather
- Unsafe weather (Gale Force or above) or conditions determined by Liquid Edge Yacht Charters may, at our discretion, cause postponement.
- Rain periods, occasional showers, lack of wind, strong wind or overcast weather is not cause for postponement.
- Weather forecasts are not accurate several days out, we have detailed modelling available to us and will make the final decision.
- Liquid Edge Yacht Charters prefers to reschedule, however if you are unable to we will provide a refund as detailed below.
Inboard toilet
- The Marine Toilet can be blocked if unnatural items or excess paper is used. Examples include: Flushable Wipes, Facial tissues (these are stronger than toilet paper), tampons, paper towels and other items will block the toilet. In the event the toilet is blocked the charter may be shortened.
- Unblocking the toilet is unpleasant and time consuming, Liquid Edge Yacht Charters will charge the Charterer a $300 fee for unblocking the toilet. Your skipper will go over the operation of the toilet with guests.
When does the charter commence and end?
- The Charterer must comply with the booking date and times agreed. Liquid Edge suggests the Charterer and guests arrive 15 minutes before the charter at the nominated pick up point.
- The charter commences at the pick up time and finishes at the drop off time.
- Public wharfs allow for pick up and set down only, Liquid Edge Yacht Charters will not bring a yacht into the wharf until all guests have arrived. Please ask everyone to be on time, or if they are running late to contact the Liquid Edge skipper to advise.
The Yacht
- The vessel is delivered in full commission and working order, and outfitted as a yacht of her size, type and accommodation with full equipment (including items required by law), clean and in good condition.
Cancellations and postponements
- Any cancellation or postponement requires written notice to us, email is acceptable.
- Cancellations 21 days before the date of charter will be issued a full refund.
- Cancellation between 21 days and 7 days before the date of charter will attract a cancellation fee of 50%.*
- Cancellation less than 7 days before the charter will attract a cancellation fee of 100%.*
- If circumstances change unexpectedly, please talk to us.
*Important note: Once notified of a cancellation we will advertise availability for that date. If a replacement booking comes in we will refund you the full amount less an admin fee of $280.
Deposits and Final Payment
- A deposit of $500 is to be paid on booking, payable within 5 days from issue of invoice. The balance to be paid 14 days prior to the charter. Payment of the deposit secures the booking.
- Bookings made within 14 days of charter should make full payment.
Bond
- A credit card bond of $1,000.00 is necessary prior to the charter. After the completion of the charter, an inspection is made, if everything is in order the authorisation is withdrawn. Enforcement of bond is very rare.
- In the event of damage or theft, Liquid Edge Yacht Charters will contact the charterer to discuss the issues.
Insurance
- The vessel and the charterers are insured against hull and machinery damage, liability and some personal effects as stated in the policy for each yacht. Liquid Edge Yacht Charters liability is limited to the insurance policy.
Music
- There is a bluetooth sound system on board. Please be aware of others around us especially when at anchor. The skipper has the right to ask for music to be turned down if he / she considers it to be affecting other people’s enjoyment of the Harbour or is in a zone where the sound signals from other craft need to monitored, such as Darling Harbour, Circular Quay.
Cancellation due to damage or breakdown
- Yachts sometimes break down or suffer damage which may require repairs or parts to be obtained, resulting in the yacht(s) being unavailable.
- Liquid Edge Yacht Charters will advise the client as soon as any problem arises and try to make alternate arrangements by booking a similar vessel.
- In the event alternate arrangements cannot be made, the charter will be cancelled and a full refund issued.
- Liquid Edge Yacht Charters will not be held liable for any arrangements or costs associated with a cancelled charter.
Acceptance of these Terms and Conditions
On payment of the deposit you acknowledge you have read this document and agree to abide by these terms and conditions.
